About the journal
Acta Virologica is the official journal of the Biomedical Research Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences that focuses mostly on molecular and cellular virology, and it is led by Dr. Katarina Polcicova. It provides means for open access publication of original papers dealing with fundamental research on human, animal, and plant viruses. As a matter of tradition also rickettsiae are included.
Acta Virologica is an official journal of the Biomedical Research Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (BMC SAS).
Established in 2016, the Biomedical Research Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences leads the way in fostering research excellence, developing interdisciplinary approaches, and stimulating innovative potential for the improvement of our knowledge on human diseases. BMC SAS research is focused on understanding metabolic, neuroendocrine, autoimmune and cardiovascular disorders, cancer, and infections.
